Acupuncture
Acupuncture originates from China and has been used for thousands of years to treat a myriad of conditions from musculoskeletal pain to internal organ pathologies. Tiny needles are used to stimulate Qi flow within the organs and throughout the 12 main meridians of the body. For more information on conditions treated, please see below.
Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbs may be given in the form of teas, granules (powder), pills, tinctures and/or capsules to address a pattern of disease. Herbal formulas are prescribed according to a patient's individual set of symptoms and created specifically for that person.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion or "Moxa" is a Chinese herb that is used to warm the meridians and increase qi and blood flow throughout the body. It looks similar to incense and is often very effective in decreasing pain and promoting healing.
Gua Sha
Gua Sha or scraping is used to increase microcirculation and remove blood stagnation associated with musculoskeletal pain. It has also been used clinically to treat fevers and other symptoms associated with internal disease. Slight bruising or "sha" is created at the site of application. If there is no stagnation at the site of the Gua Sha, Sha will not come up to the surface. It often relieves pain immediately and has lasting effects.
PRE AND POST IVF/IUI ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENTS
Research has shown a much higher pregnancy success rate for women who undergo acupuncture directly before and after an IVF/IUI transfer. For more information on this research, please click on the articles link. I provide these treatments at my office during office hours or at your home.
TUI-NA and Qi Gong
Tui-Na is a form of massage where pressure points and meridians are activated through the use of massage techniques. External Qi Gong treatment is a form of energetic healing where the meridians are activated with out touching the body.
CUPPING
Cupping therapy is the application of suction cups to different parts of the body. These cups are used to relieve stagnation of qi and blood, which are often responsible for pain within the body.
ELECTRO-STIMULATION
Electro stimulation or E-stim is a process of applying very small amounts of electrical stimulation to acupuncture needles in order to relieve muscle pain and spasm.
Virtual medical qi Gong healing
Virtual Medical Qi Gong sessions are done from the comfort of your own home. Similar to Acupuncture, Qi Gong techniques are used to activate the Qi along the meridians within your body to remove blockages, restore harmony and fortify energy. Similar to Reiki (Japanese method), Qi Gong healing works without touching the body. Qi Gong may be used for pain relief, deep relaxation and spiritual alignment.
